Kristin Derimanova
Kristin has worked as a graphic designer and educator for more than two decades. She’s created print and web designs for clients ranging from museums, educational and financial institutions to small businesses, yoga studios and artists. Trained as a classical painter, Kristin brings a unique sensibility to her design solutions.
Born and raised in the historic and culturally vibrant city of Veliko Turnovo Bulgaria, she earned her MFA from St. Cyril and St. Methodious University. She later continued her education in graphic design at Mohawk Valley Community College, Utica NY and the School of Visual Arts, NYC.
She’s currently a professor at Kingsborough Community College, Brooklyn NY where she teaches typography and graphic design. She is also the Program Director of the Graphic Design and Illustraiton Program in the Art department. Under her supervision and art direction Antheon, the school’s arts journal, has won awards from Graphic Design USA, American Advertising Awards (ADDY), and Columbia Scholastic Press.
When Kristin is not designing or teaching you can find her climbing mountains in our national parks or visiting indigenous people all over the world.
